ADRIC Announces 2020 McGowan Excellence in ADR Award Winner

National Lionel J. McGowan Award:

The ADR Institute of Canada (ADRIC) announces that Serge Pisapia has been chosen as this year’s recipient of the National Lionel J. McGowan Award. This Award recognizes those who have made an outstanding contribution to the development and success of ADR and/or ADRIC on a national level, and have contributed significantly to the promotion and development of alternative dispute resolution across Canada.

Andrew Butt, President of ADRIC, stated: “Serge Pisapia’s particular expertise in alternative dispute resolution for the construction industry has made him a sought-after mediator and arbitrator. He has always remained very involved on a volunteer level in the promotion, training and development of ADR tools.  Mr. Pisapia is more than an ambassador for our ADR industry; he is a proven leader and one of the great personalities who fully deserves to be recognized at the national level.”

Regional Lionel J. McGowan Award:

The ADR Institute of Canada (ADRIC) announces that Eric Slone has been chosen as this year’s recipient of the Regional Lionel J. McGowan Award. This award is given annually to an individual who has contributed significantly to the promotion and development of ADR within a region or made an outstanding contribution to the development and success of an ADRIC Regional Affiliate.

Mr Butt stated: “Eric has consistently been an active and unselfish leader on the ADR scene in Atlantic Canada and beyond, providing energetic and thoughtful leadership in helping bring ADR into the mainstream and keeping it there.”

ADRIC will formally present these awards after its virtual annual general meeting on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time.
